Each week of the course you will be introduced to simple breathing exercises and stress busting techniques to help you cope with day to day living.

  • Week 1

    An introduction to a simple breathing technique to bring calmness to the mind. We will explore the difference between stress and pressure, with some personal reflection and begin to develop practical stress busters (simple actions) you can incorporate into your daily living.

  • Week 2

    Another simple breathing exercise and practical stress busters you can incorporate into your daily living. How to quickly calm down when emotions are rising. We will finish with a meditation to deal with one of your stressors.

  • Week 3

    Will start with another simple breathing exercise and practical stress busters you can incorporate into your daily living. You will be introduced to anchors - simple steps we can take when we feel overwhelmed.

  • Week 4

    In the final session you will be introduced to actions and techniques you can incorporate into your daily living. The session will end with a simple stress busting meditation.

    Share with others and be able to speak directly with your tutors about your course on the Creative Communities chat space

This programme is for people who are experiencing stress triggered by current conditions

You will be offered the opportunity to experience a wide variety of interventions so you can find what works for you.

The aims of the ‘Stress Busting’ programme is to:

Encourage participants to recognise the ongoing themes in their lives that ignite their stress levels and to understand that human beings dealing with conditions outside of their control do experience stress.

For people to identify indicators of stress which may influence unhealthy life style choices or emotions such as anger, or distress.

To investigate possible methods of reducing stress levels by way of alternative methods of approaching daily living.

The desired outcomes would be for you to be equipped with helpful tools you can use when in a stressful situation or conditions arise.

Please note, this programme is for people who are experiencing stress triggered by current conditions. It is not a substitute for medical treatment. Individuals who require mental health support should seek the help of a mental health professional.
